Sunday, January 22nd, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, in fact, New Mexico authors John Jos Miller, Trent Zelazny, and I will all be appearing together onstage at the lovely Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico!
Yes, I’m returning to the scene of the crime! And by “crime,” I mean my Most Triumphant Worldwide Launch Party for The Dinosaur Lords on August 3, 2015!
Here I enjoy a fine LCHF cupcake kindly made for me by The Artist Known As WYLD, at the after-launch signing. Photo credit: Serge Broom.
… Which, not at all coincidentally, was my 61st birthday.
Yes, it was a Hell of a party.
Anyway, we’ll be getting interviewed by David Sidebottom and talking about Writing and Stuff, as you might expect from something called a Writers Series. To buy tickets, click here. They’re $6 for children (I’m not sure you want to bring children to this one), $7 for students and senior citizens, and $8 for all the rest of you.
There’re also something called “VIP Tickets” available for $13 a throw. I have no idea what those are. I for one am not giving you a private dance no matter how much you pay the damn Cocteau. (Unless you are, in fact, The Artist Known As WYLD.) Frankly, I’d pay $130 to avoid getting a lap dance from me, but that’s … just getting too involuted, not to mention horrifying, so let’s move on.
Also, it will allegedly be live streamed on Periscope and Facebook, though I’ve no clue as yet how to access the streams; I’ll let you know as soon as I do. So, if you can’t make it, or are just too cheap, or both, you still don’t have to miss our senses-shattering appearance!
It should be fun. Really. And if it’s not, just blame theater owner George R. R. Martin. (He probably won't be there, so you should be safe.)
Update – You may recall how yesterday I announced a thing I’d just learned myself: that I now have my own page on TV Tropes.com! Or to be technical, my DinoLords books do. Anyway, in case you missed the utterly obscure reference, to a 37 year-old movie I’ve never actually watched, the title is lifted from this scene.
That’s it for now. More soon – really! – because more stuff is happening. Trust me.
And as always – thanks for reading!
