First off, I just a few minutes ago sent the copyedited manuscript for the upcoming third installment of The Dinosaur Lords Trilogy, The Dinosaur Princess, back to Tor, having reviewed it, made the few necessary changes, and found it Good.
This one. Not pictured: a princess. As far as I know.
Still, it’s another face-biting-offly awesome cover by Richard Anderson, so I’m gonna roll with it, and advise you to as well.
But wait! There’s more! Oh, my, yes.
Wait for it – drum roll….
Sunday, January 22nd, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, in fact, New Mexico authors John Jos Miller, Trent Zelazny, and I will all be appearing together onstage at the lovely Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico!
Yes, I’m returning to the scene of the crime! And by “crime,” I mean my Most Triumphant Worldwide Launch Party for The Dinosaur Lords on August 3, 2015!
Here I enjoy a fine LCHF cupcake kindly made for me by The Artist Known As WYLD, at the after-launch signing. Photo credit: Serge Broom.
… Which, not at all coincidentally, was my 61st birthday.
Yes, it was a Hell of a party.
No, not now! I’m exhausted and my upper back is sore from sitting too long in a hard chair – a small price to pay for an afternoon spent at an awesome Fourth of July party kindly thrown by John Jos and Gail Gerstner-Miller and featuring the likes of, well, them, along with S. M. “Steve” Stirling and his wife Jan, Jane Lindskold and Jim Moore, and Doug Potter and Julie, plus Wild Carder Chip Wideman and a bunch of cool people from the library Gail works at. Oh, and George R. R. Martin.
It was about as swell as you would think.
No, I’m doing an AMA
on Reddit, Thursday, July 7th!
I’m on the schedule and everything!
So I went to Portales and all I got was this lousy -
For context, click the image. Or here.
Wait! That’s not lousy at all! It’s entirely Awesome! It's a plaque for being Guest of Honor at the 2016 Jack Williamson Lectureship. And that’s a real Clovis Point!
Revision: I went to Portales and all I got was this most excellent award and a wonderful time!
A new antagonist appears!
Not sure what the gruff Anglo-looking dude part is meant to represent. Not me, for sure. I only wish I could grow a beard that swell.

If you’re antagonized by some dude talking at you about nerd stuff, that is. Or by, well, me.
Yes, that’s me. Okay, no, it’s not, it’s an intensely swell picture representing some aspects of my body of work. The important thing is what it’s advertising: an upcoming apparition of me, at the 2016 Jack Williamson Lectureship at Eastern New Mexico University, Portales NM, April 7-9th. Along with the inimitable Connie Willis and no doubt a host of other SF/F luminaries from New Mexico and its environs.
But wait – there’s more! I’ll also be appearing the Wednesday after, April 15th …
So yeah, this post is primarily to shill for my signing next Sunday, October 18th, at 3:00 PM at Bookworks in Albuquerque. Which happens to be right down the street from me, just north of the corner of Griegos and Río Grande Blvd!
But first, the creative madmen and women at DarkSide are at it again:
Please can I have in the the US, Tor? Please? Puh-LEEZE?
That title translates to “The Dinosaur Lords According to Jesus.” I swear to, uh, God. And you can click the title in case you want to buy the book in Portuguese! How can you resist?
Yes, like unto the proverbial bad penny.
So my Worldwide Launch Party for The Dinosaur Lords happened at George R. R. Martin's Jean Cocteau Cinema. And it was swell!
Every Man A Dinosaur Lord! And Every Woman A Dinosaur Lady!

I went up early on the train with my Friend and Companion, The Artist Known As WYLD, and we loafed around Santa Fe for a spell. Then we went to the signing and I had a Hell of a time. Thanks to all of you for coming out, and everybody at the Cocteau who made it possible! And of course, special thanks to my long-time friend Melinda Snodgrass for doing a masterful job interviewing me.
We still make a great team.
According to the suave ticker on my home page installed by equally-suave Webmaster Supreme Ron Miles, as I write this there are less than twelve hours till the senses-shattering official launch of The Dinosaur Lords!
Cool! But nope.

But one week from today it’s my birthday – and an even more momentous occasion.
It’s the Official Worldwide Launch Party at the Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe, NM, held there by the personal invitation of theater owner George R. R. Martin himself!
