Appearing Soon: The Dinosaur Princess!

And also me! Repeatedly.

Yes, the third novel of my Dinosaur Lords Trilogy, The Dinosaur Princess, will be out from Tor on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017! That’s two weeks! Whoa!

And of course it has a wonderful Richard Anderson cover. Need you even ask?

DinoPrincess-cover

Not pictured: any actual dinosaur princesses. Unless that Ceratosaurus is one.

Richard Anderson takes certain artistic liberties sometimes. For some reason, I don’t mind.

You can pre-order your very own hardback copy by clicking the title or the image above, or here, and for Kindle right here.

It’s gotten some pretty sweet advance notices, from io9 and The Verge. (In both cases, scroll down.) The Critiquing Chemist has reviewed it favorably, and thrown in a glossary as a bonus. And here’s a fine review from Publishers Weekly! (That’s three for three there. Yes.)

So that’s a promising start. Fingers crossed it does well – if you’d like to see more books by me. Specifically, more adventures on Paradise. And most specifically of all, the second trilogy which will complete the saga of Karyl and Shiraa!

Of which more anon.

So, signing? Yeah, I’ll signing.

The First Step Is A Doozy

So a week ago Sunday I went to the wonderful memorial for Roger Zelazny hosted by George R. R. Martin at his Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe. It was touching – and good to be reminded that my late friend and Wild Cards colleague wasn’t just one of the greatest writers ever, but a really great guy.

The audience was in large part a rogues’ gallery of New Mexico SF/F writers, unsurprisingly. And afterwards at the reception I heard from several of them a song I’ve heard before: my upcoming dinosaur fantasy novel is getting a lot of buzz.

So who wants more awesome news about The Dinosaur Lords?

Too bad. You’re getting it anyway.

But it starts, oddly enough, with this.

Mechanical cover

Ian Tregillis is a good friend of mine, a demon writer of SF and Fantasy, and an astrophysicist. (No, really.) His wife, Sara Gmitter, posted a link to this suave review of his newest from Publishers Weekly on Facebook. I naturally reposted it on my own Timeline.

At which Sara came back promptly to thank me – and congratulate me for “Dinosaur Lords place on the top 10 list in that same issue of PW!”

What, now?
