But not preserved in amber. Instead, they’re preserved on Kindle!
Insert obligatory RAWR!!1! here.
Yes, I and a raptor-pack of other authors have just dropped The Jurassic Chronicles, a bundle of dinosaur tales, on Kindle. It’s a big bundle, too, featuring stories not just by me, but by writers people have actually heard of, like Laxmi Hariharan and Seanan McGuire, and edited by Samuel Peralta! And they’re only 99¢ a pop*! So why not buy?
That’s a limited-time offer right there, so if you want this steamin’ chunk o’ tasty dino for a buck, you’d best get on it. You can do so by clicking on the image above, or any of a the innumerable other links I’ve scattered around this post!
Sunday, January 22nd, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, in fact, New Mexico authors John Jos Miller, Trent Zelazny, and I will all be appearing together onstage at the lovely Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe, New Mexico!
Yes, I’m returning to the scene of the crime! And by “crime,” I mean my Most Triumphant Worldwide Launch Party for The Dinosaur Lords on August 3, 2015!
Here I enjoy a fine LCHF cupcake kindly made for me by The Artist Known As WYLD, at the after-launch signing. Photo credit: Serge Broom.
… Which, not at all coincidentally, was my 61st birthday.
Yes, it was a Hell of a party.
Have been one of those days.
But not one of those days. Oh, (Dinosaur) Lordy, no.
So let me recap – as best I can even recall:
Today started off with me seeing my first review of The Dinosaur Knights. And omigods it's a good one!
Turns out it’s about knights on dinosaurs! Who knew?
This gratifies me hugely. Not just because it’s what I believe may truly be characterized as a rave review. But because to this reviewer, at least, I imparted pretty much what I hoped to in the book.
And a key perception on her part is that Book I, The Dinosaur Lords, is really the beginning. And Book II, The Dinosaur Knights, is the rest of the story.
As to how that came about – here’s the rest of that story.
The Dinosaur Knights, that is.
With yet another smashing cover by the incomparable Richard Anderson!
Book II of the Dinosaur Lords Trilogy comes out in hardcover three weeks from today – July 5th, 2016. Which I can still hardly believe.
… And possibly even dark!
Dinosaur Knights: crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside.
So a few months back the fine folks at Grimdark Magazine, published online out of Australia, kindly invited me to contribute a story. And here it is: "Red Sails, Red Seas," on the cover, no less. Along with some mighty distinguished company.
And you can buy the whole issue on Amazon
So much meaty goodness! So to speak.
Specifically, mine began this way today:
A nutritious breakfast for girls and boys!*
We may have missed out on the full traditional course – I missed the “knock-knock” and the “thump” part – but for the first time in months a dog barking vigorously presaged the vroom of a UPS truck pulling away, having deposited an unexpected package on my porch. And this was what was inside. Double yay!
So, yeah. To start my day I got the new ARCs for The Dinosaur Knights and the inaugural slice of my Easter chocolate cake! Which I made on Easter, so it totally counts.
A new antagonist appears!
Not sure what the gruff Anglo-looking dude part is meant to represent. Not me, for sure. I only wish I could grow a beard that swell.

If you’re antagonized by some dude talking at you about nerd stuff, that is. Or by, well, me.
Yes, that’s me. Okay, no, it’s not, it’s an intensely swell picture representing some aspects of my body of work. The important thing is what it’s advertising: an upcoming apparition of me, at the 2016 Jack Williamson Lectureship at Eastern New Mexico University, Portales NM, April 7-9th. Along with the inimitable Connie Willis and no doubt a host of other SF/F luminaries from New Mexico and its environs.
But wait – there’s more! I’ll also be appearing the Wednesday after, April 15th …
So yeah, this post is primarily to shill for my signing next Sunday, October 18th, at 3:00 PM at Bookworks in Albuquerque. Which happens to be right down the street from me, just north of the corner of Griegos and Río Grande Blvd!
But first, the creative madmen and women at DarkSide are at it again:
Please can I have in the the US, Tor? Please? Puh-LEEZE?
That title translates to “The Dinosaur Lords According to Jesus.” I swear to, uh, God. And you can click the title in case you want to buy the book in Portuguese! How can you resist?
