So I’m wondering, please, what’s the attraction to Speed Racer? The trailers I’ve seen did naught for me.

Then again I never saw the animated series. Anyway, I’ve been curious.

Loved Indy 1 and 3. 2 had a few redeeming qualities, but I agree that they are mostly in the first 20 minutes. Haven't seen Iron Man yet but I am all a-squee about wanting to see Speed Racer!

Hi, Ann! Always good to see you here. Or anywhere, for that matter. Well, it occurs to me I should probably go back and watch 2 & 3 again, having seen the first a month or two ago. There's a movie I actually enjoy more as time goes by. Although it might be as much as I can stand of Temple of Doom. There's a movie I enjoyed well enough the first time, possibly because I expected to, but quickly began to become disenchanted with until it just flat annoys me. Last Crusade probably deserves a new look. I had the same impression of the end of that one - and I'm fairly ure it was intended to be the last movie in the franchise; I seem to recall comments from Ford to that effect, anyway. I definitely agree the return of Karen Allen (why the hell - okay, I know why she wasn't in the second one: it's a prequel. Still) bodes well. Since I first laid eyes on her in Animal House I've never wanted to leave her behind. Thanks for the info on Iron Man. Just makes me even hungrier to see it. I pretty much always stay for end credits anyway, especially since I've friends who may have worked on a given movie. I've never been a huge Nick Fury fan, but I suppose I'll hold off checking imbd for who's cast as him now until I see this one. Never saw the first Narnia. This one looks intriguing, so maybe I better check it out... And meanwhile: thanks. I'll keep my courage up and keep my own counsel until I see the new Indy for myself.

I loved the 3rd Indiana Jones movie. Two things bugged me: 1) I thought Prof Henry Jones (Sean Connery) should have traded places with the knight in the cave, and 2) when they rode off into the sunset–literally–I thought that was the end of the franchise. It ended on a high note. Why mess with success?

In the trailers, Karen Allen has returned. This bodes well. Have courage!

You should see Iron Man. I’ve seen it twice. I was a big fan of the comix and I’m snarling at myself for selling my pre-1978 Iron Man comix forcollege money. I could make bank on ebay.

When you see Iron Man, look for Rhody’s MIT class ring, “the Brass Rat.” It’s on his right hand in the swilling-down-saki on the plane scene, and it’s on his left hand in the who’s-shooting-at my-F22s over Gulmira scene. It’s actually a gold ring with the MIT beaver mascot. Hopefully, the next movie will explain all that.

And in the scene where the robots are trying to detach Stark’s Mark 3 armor, you can see Captain America’s shield in progress on the work table. I didn’t see it in the trailers. I guess they air-brushed it out for a surprise.

And stay until the end of the credits for a glimpse at the Iron Man sequel. You will see who is cast as Nick Fury for the franchise. I’m ticked. They should have brought back Hasselhoff. He looks like Fury and he probably needs the work. In the perfect alternate universe, he would be Fury.

Until then, I will satisfy myself with “Prince Caspian.” It seems promising. And, I actually liked “Narnia.” But, I’m really looking forward to Iron Man at the dollar theater.
