Every now and then, as Johnny Winter puts it, I know it’s kind of hard to tell.
Okay, I hope I’m doing better than that. Or at least look better.
Just a quick status update, the gist of which has been delivered. I’m driving hard to finish a book on time. I will, but I’m wiped out.
That on top of the street-rat crazy I get when I’m on the verge of finishing a project. Especially a novel.
There’s news. Pretty big news.
But you’ll have to wait for it. Heh, heh.

Any time I’m tempted to describe myself as “as white as it gets,” I remember Johnny and Edgar Winter, and … put it a different way.

And there you have it.
(Quick – what trashtastic but entertaining ’80s action flick am I quoting? Anybody?)
For some unfathomable reason, Meowlin, some nasty confluence WordPress and Akismet spam-filtering software has devoured your last comment to this post. In spite of the fact I unSpammed it, approved it, and indeed received email notification that it had posted here.
Why isn’t it here? I have no Earthly clue.

And now, in the face of overwhelming popular apathy as to my trivia question, in an act of Heroic Randian Defiance, I will make you care by the very depth of my passion! Or, you know, not.
Anyway, the quote is from the ridiculous but rather entertaining early-Nineties actioner Showdown in Little Tokyo. And it goes something like this:
Dolph Lundgren: Out of the frying pan and boned up the ass with a red-hot poker.
Brandon Lee: And there you have it!
And there, indeed, you do.
(I may be easily amused. But at least I’m amused.)
From another ridiculous but rather entertaining movie-within-a-movie:
Dr. Klahn: These are lost drunken men who don’t know where they are, but do care! And these are men who know where they are and care, but don’t drink.
Prisoner #3: I don’t know who I am!
Prisoner #4: Yeah. and I don’t drink.
Dr. Klahn: Guards!
[guards move prisoners]
Dr. Klahn: Do you care?
Prisoner #5: No.
Dr. Klahn: Put this man in cell #1, and give him a drink.
~~~
Hey, I cared. I just didn’t know the answer. Now I know.
And knowing is half the battle. (\”0)
