Not to be confused with a day off.
About six weeks ago I started having some trouble sleeping. I suspect that the weather starting to heat up had more than a little to do with it.
Since things have cooled off, at least a bit, I’ve been doing better. But last night, what with one thing or another, I slept … not so great.
So I’ve been turning over at pretty low revs. I couldn’t really afford to take a true day off. I’ve been doing a lot of socializing lately, which I think in general is a Good Thing. I have not been hugely productive, though.
(Also I’ve been engaged in several projects aside from the Big One, including other paid or potentially-so writing, and of course, Firearms for Fictioneers #1: Why bother?.)
Did manage to polish off a scene rewrite that I’d allowed to get on top of me. I need to push a little harder to break that particular old habit: I haven’t altogether put fears of unworthiness behind me. I also went on to finish the chapter: bonus!
We’ll try to get a better sleep last night (granted, trying isn’t usually the most helpful approach to this sort of thing.) And I’ll get a running start tomorrow.
