But I’m calling it a win.
So first it seemed my cell phone battery wasn’t taking a charge. So I left it plugged to the charger when I had to go out this afternoon. Checked Wally World to see if they had a replacement phone – which would likely be the cheapest way to replace the battery. Then I went by Radio Shack. No luck there either, although the clerk did tell me they charged $50 for a battery to go in a phone they were selling (if only they had them) for $20.
Came home and the phone was charged. But it wouldn’t come on. Curses.
A friend of mine I hadn’t seen for a while, Scott Cline, had a birthday recently. Met him and my pal Larry Hays at Texas Land & Cattle for dinner. It was good. Then we walked across the Century Rio 24 parking lot and watched Predators.
Movie wasn’t bad. The trailer for Machete was awesome. So want to see that one.
Larry got directions to the nearest Wal-Mart for me on his Droid. Went there. No joy. Hit two more. Nothing.
In the parking lot of the third Wal-Mart I decided, what the hell? And tried turning on the phone.
It worked. Came right on. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
But as I texted Larry: I went to three Wal-Marts intent on coming home with a working phone.
And I did.
So: win!
In other news: I have a tag named “stepping on my wing-wang”? Really?
