I reckon it’s about time to do a straight-up pandering post for Emma Dog’s innumerable fans (do I know how to draw eyes to the site, or what?) So after I delivered the ever-problematic contracts for The Dinosaur Lords to UPS to go back to Tor, we hit the ditch that runs from behind Lee Acres [...] So this evening a little before 7 I was walking Emma Dog back south along the ditch east of the Rio Grande Nature Center field. Sitting in splendid isolation on a limb maybe 25 feet up I saw a Cooper’s hawk. One of these guys. I stood and admired it for a while as Emma industriously [...] Dogs believe they exist to serve us. Cats believe we exist to serve them. Ferrets know we exist to amuse them. (Note: I realized these things long ago. For some reason they came back to me a few minutes ago when my cat TJ was following me around, unaccountably making Wookiee noises.) Update: And a last minute Happy [...] |
