I don’t want to overload you with Emma Dog. (I know – too late.) But since she’s also like the biggest single draw for the blog, I’m going to anyway. Plus she did something else which her fond and foolish Daddy found adorable. So, deal. Friday night was the annual ASFS December Dessert Cook-Off Meeting. And I [...] Emma made a new friend on our walk last night. No wonder I couldn’t sleep. There was a dead mouse in my bed. My best friend and I get stuck inside our favorite coffee shop by a police standoff across the street. Bad news: have to stop reading two great novels. Good news: get to start reading writers group submissions! How am I, this Fourth of July? Alive and kicking! My happiest summer: building WWI airplane models as a kid. I get a new book proposal out. Hopefully money coming in will ensue. At last, Emma’s home. Kathy and Steve Kubica brought her back from the kennel today. Poor child’s been gone a long time. I felt bad about not bringing her home earlier, but the fact was I was in no shape to deal with her before this. She’s a very good girl. She’s also large, strong, and [...] Rumors of my death are scarcely exaggerated. Home now, and doing much better. |
